il Gallo Nero: Reviews & Ratings
We ordered the oxtail stew, pasta and salad. Food was delicious. It is located in a nice area. It was our first meal in Rome
I visited Rome on 8/4 to 8/8 and this restaurant was around the corner from our excellent Hotel Genova and the food was excellent. The service was just as excellent. I wish I can get the Lasagna shipped to Louisiana. Please go if you are in Rome…you won’t be sorry.
Cracking place close to Roma Termini. We were staying just up the road and were after a good, genuine meal for our last night in Rome. il Gallo Nero didn’t disappoint! The musky octopus and swordfish carpaccio were great. The pasta dishes (carbonara, cacio e pepe and truffle ravioli) were amazing as were the meatballs. We were pretty full by this stage but the service was too good to refuse, and we decided we could squeeze dessert in. Chocolate and hazelnut tartufo as well as the best tiramisu we’ve had in Italy capped of a perfect meal. On top of the amazing food was the even better service. Very, very busy place, waiters handled it all calmly and professionally. Would highly recommend.
Stopped in here for a late dinner with my family on the night of our arrival to Rome. The food was very good and service was attentive in a relaxed atmosphere. Their prices are surprisingly affordable too. Quite pleased given all the choices around the area. Would not hesitate to dine here again.
went there like 3 days in a row, amazing prices for roma, authentic food not no americanized items, amazing service and great placement, train station is close by and tables by the street if wanted
I chose to dine here after seeing so many good reviews and it did not disappoint! I enjoyed Fettuccine al Ragú and a lovely dessert - I did not feel rushed at any point which allowed me to truly enjoy my food. The restaurant got busier as I left, which always shows me that it was a good choice! The pasta was thick and the sauce was tasty, not too rich either! The dessert was light but incredibly tasty I was a solo traveller and I felt comfortable and looked after within this restaurant. The price of the dishes were reasonable also. Would highly recommend!
We absolutely loved eating here! Our food was some of our favorite in Rome. Our waiter was nice, funny, and attentive. The prices were incredibly reasonable. We had a bottle of wine, a pizza, and two pastas for 54 euros. HIGHLY recommend.
Very cool little trattoria near termini roma. Had the fettuccine (made in house) with porcini mushroom and truffle, veal saltimbocca and a green salad. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Highly recommended
